Asec. Adevoso thanks Hunters ROTC Supremo Frisco F. San Juan Sr.for his congratulatory note and kind words which serve to encourage towards higher levels of work for our Veterans.
On July 28, we attended the 2nd to the last SONA of President Arroyo at the Batasang Pambansa. It was a generally peaceful day despite small pockets of protest groups. I am now convinced that there are no more strong challenges to the President, and that she can complete her term.

August -
on August 1, my nephew Architect Jason Buensalido was given an award by the President (c/o Sec. Gilbert Teodoro) for winning in an international design competition
on Aug. 5, 2008 the National Defense College of the Philippines held a Forum-Symposium on the crucial issues affecting the Veterans Memorial Medical Center, which had been reportedly earmarked for closure or transfer due to the creation of a Quezon City Central Business District. Asec. Adevoso attended this in order to give the Defense establishment the social, moral and legal views of the war veterans on the issue.
Also on this day, a visit of and lunch with the Fil-Am veterans descendants to the War Museum-OPC complex in Veterans Center, Taguig was held.
Finally, in the evening, Asst. Sec. Adevoso was invited to the dinner birthday celebration of Sen. Dick Gordon at the NBC Tent, Fort Bonifacio. President GMA was the main guest at this event.
A new bill was filed by Sen. Gordon to protect and segregate the 5-hectare area of the Museum-Library-Theater-OPC complex of the Board of Trustees of Veterans of World War II from the rest of the Veterans Center area devoted to commercial enterprise.
On August 6, my Daet, Camarines Norte-based cousin Rex Adevoso Bernardo was the receipient of the highest Presidential Merit award from PGMA as a grand achiever from the sector of the differently-abled. The event at the Rizal Hall was the biennial Apolinario Mabini Awards.
From Aug. 14-16, Asec. Adevoso was in La Trinidad and Baguio City, Benguet as Guest of Honor to attend and speak before veterans and the public attending the 63rd WW2 Liberation Day Rites of the province.
On August 20, together with former Veterans Party-List Rep. Ed Pilapil and Rizal Vice-Gov. Frisco San Juan Jr. and Hunters ROTC-veterans Frisco San Juan Sr and Ben Eusebio, Asec. Adevoso visited Sec. Lito Atienza at the DENR (represented by Usec. Eleazar Quinto). On representations made, Usec. Quinto (also the President of the Phil Forest Corp.) verbally granted 60 hectares of leased land in Central Luzon to the members of the WWII Heritage Organization Inc. as a pilot and model leased site for WWII descendants throughout the country to emulate and pattern their efforts after. After the meeting with Usec. Quinto, the veterans delegation mapped out strategies and plans over lunch at Tri-Noma sponsored by veteran Ben Eusebio.
On August 25, 2008, Asec. Adevoso attended the National Heroes Day Rites held at the Libingan ng Mga Bayani, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, together with Usec. E. Carolina of the DND, Mayor Freddie Tinga of Taguig City and National Historical Institute Exec. Director Ludovico Badoy and several VFP national officers and members.
